Apologies for the extended delay

Thanks again to everybody that contributed to the Charity Game. The Pharaohs took home the W, 5 – 1 over the Metro FOOLS, but more importantly, we raised over $1500 for the MDA! This year’s game totally blew away our expectations and we want to thank everybody for making this a huge success.

In non-charity news, your Howlers Pharaohs are off to a 2 – 0 start in regular season action. Our next game is March 31 at Ice Castle in Castle Shannon.

Some last minute updates

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be taking on the Pittsburgh Celebrity Hockey Team this weekend. The team has, however, made a generous donation to the MDA on behalf of the event, and for that we thank them.

The game will go on as scheduled thanks to Nick Sohyda and the Pittsburgh Metro FOOLS. The Metro FOOLS were eager to jump in a help us out with this event, so we hope everybody will still come out and catch the game and support the MDA.

We’re getting a tremendous amount of support for this years game. Thanks to all of our sponsors, new and old. Here are some of the prizes we’ll be offering at the rink:

We’d like to thank everybody that supported our game on Saturday. We all had a lot of fun and the afternoon was a huge success. We ended up raising over $600 for the MDA! Hopefully we’ll be able to do this again soon.

Lacing ‘em Up to Fight Muscular Dystrophy

On Saturday April 26, The Pittsburgh Celebrity Hockey Team and the Pittsburgh Pharaohs will play a benefit game to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

MDA supports research on a number of neuromuscular diseases, sponsors summer camps for children and young adults with neuromuscular diseases, and distributes educational materials to further public health education. Its comprehensive service program provides medical care and support at more than 200 hospital-affiliated clinics across the country.

Doors open at 3:00 pm and the game will begin at 3:10. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12. There will also be an autographed memorabilia auction, and snacks and soft drinks will be available.
